The Beginning of Greatness - Nissan Skyline R32 GTR
The Nissan Skyline R32 GTR debuted back in 1989. This is when the real precursor to the GTR of today was introduced. When released, had aa-wheel drive and the famed Nissan RB26DETT. With a motor like this, it was able to pump out 280 HP.
The Nissan Skyline R32 GTR is such an icon as it set a record back in 1989 when it started in 29 races, it won all 29 races in a row over the next 4 seasons!
Sadly the Nissan Skyline R32 and the GTR never sold in the United States. Making it a sought after car, after it became legal to import into the United States. With that being said, the R32 GTR is a dying breed, with only a few left out in the world that haven't rusted, or rotted away in yards. If you can find one, expect to pay upwards up to $40k+ for a clean and any where to $60k+ for the one shown above. (at the time of writing this article in Nov. 2020).
To summarize, the Nissan Skyline R32 GTR will always be loved throughout the Automotive world. It's place cemented into history.
